Established during a period of challenge for the hotel industry, our founder put in an immense amount of effort towards creating his hotels alongside his sons Mr. Sunil Kumar and Mr. Anil Kumar. Our founder's vision quickly gained support from the town's people and brought in many well-known corporate clients and businessmen from various regions of India.

On August 15, 1990, the Maurya Palace, a hotel with AC and Non-AC rooms, opened its doors to the public. Along with his hotel, our founder opened one of the finest multi-cuisine restaurants called Jewel Rock, a true jewel for Mysoreans. The SAN Group brought in specialised chefs from all across the continent to create mouth-watering delicacies for the people of Mysore — North Indian, Chinese, tandoor and continental cuisine, along with a range of pastries and desserts. The 88-seater restaurant includes a well-stocked bar on the mezzanine floor with a variety of cocktails and mocktails.

The father and son duo became popularly known for their personalised service, connecting with customers and creating a happy environment — values that continue to define every SAN Group property today.
